Our School

The school community of Hamilton E. Holmes is committed to academic excellence. We believe that every student has the right to learn in an environment that supports students in developing all their talents and gifts, and we believe that every student has the right to be nurtured and challenged to high levels of achievement. The Hamilton Holmes’ school community is dedicated to developing a community of learners that includes students, teachers, and parents, and we commit ourselves to continually strive for excellence.

Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary opened in the city of East Point, a southern suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, in August 2003. Our school serves approximately 700 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, we also house the South Metro Psychoeducational Program and special needs pre-kindergarten inclusion class. We offer our students a challenging learning environment in a state-of-the-art building. Our school is equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance the instruction of our students and to prepare our students for the demands of a technologically-advancing world.
